NYC's Phone Home is a duo comprised of Michael and John Vallarelli. That's weird. What are the chances band mates would just so happen to have the same last name?! Ok, yeah. They're bros. And together, using mostly synth and percussive sounds (that would be called "drums," Rockness), the two create pretty (mostly) instrumental rock that was probably once labeled 'post' something or another.
Phone Home's music is very melodic and sometimes sorta spacey (especially when things get all vibraphone-y) and often a little math rock-y when it kicks it up a notch, and it's always pretty perfectly pleasant to listen to.
Phone Home is what you should put on when you want your mood to even out a little. In other words, this isn't music to RAGE to. This is music to gaze at the stars to (or, you know, music to listen to while working on your novel or something).
Final thought and then we'll let you go buy tickets to see these guys play: you remember The Mercury Program? Phone Home reminds me of that long lost super solid band. That's it. Thank you. You guys have been great.
